Preparing For Christmas

Each year as it gets closer to Christmas, I begin to think about what gifts I’d like to get for my parents. It’s hard to buy great gifts for people that you perceive to have everything. So each year, no matter what the occasion is I tend to get really creative and they seem to love it!

For Mother’s Day, Joanne and I picked up a really cute nightgown for my Mom that said “Born to Shop” on it. And for Father’s Day, I created CDs for my Dad with programs, fonts, and all kinds of computer goodies I knew would make his life easier.

So, with just 2 months to go it’s time for me to be on my game with their presents. It always takes me so long to decide what I’m going to do and I don’t want to be down to the wire on anything!

This morning as I was reading the e-mail from my Mom that said she needed Christmas lists I got to thinking that it’d be kind of fun to head out this weekend and go shopping for a few people on my list as well. But when I looked down at the time on my computer, it hit me.

Dad loves clocks.

They’re everywhere all over their house. Especially in his office. But there are 2 clocks that he has that I really like.

The first he’s got in his living room, next to his big comfie “Daddy chair.” It appears to be a normal digital clock but when the lights go out it projects the time on the ceiling. I think he likes this one because it projects within easy eye sight of the TV when he’s watching movies.

The other is one of many wall clocks. It’s a Cadillac rim. It’s so unique and so perfect for my Dad (my Mom works for a Cadillac dealership and they drive Cadillacs).

After Googling out the gift this morning, just to be on the side of something really cool for Dad, I came across the clock blog. Hey, Dad’s not alone! Their blog talks about everything from mantel clocks to clocks for your blog. So I’m hitting this store.

I haven’t decided yet what’s going to be the best new click to add to Dad’s collection. And even when I do, I’ve got to still figure out something for Mom. But her gifts I usually pick up based on what I see while I’m shopping.

Have you started thinking about Christmas shopping yet? This is one thing I just don’t want to be down to the wire on this year. I better get on my game and do it before it is!

One person down, many more to go!

Christmas seems to be coming sooner and sooner doesn’t it? There’s already talk about sending each other Christmas cards and begging for addresses. o.O WTH? It’s not even Halloween yet, XD.

Anyways, yeah, we’ve started discussing Christmas already. It’s one of my favorite holidays, and since my birthday falls so close (17 days prior), it makes it doubly exciting for me.

Actually, on the clock subject, we’re considering getting Josh’s dad a clock for the kitchen. Every digital clock in there is half-dead, and you can never tell what time it is. Plus, with ice-season upon us, something non-electric would work great for him. I’ll have to check out those links :)

Yeah, Christmas is coming too fast. Especially with Zadey being so young I feel like I have to really soak it up while it’s still magical to her!

Have fun clock shopping, let me know if you find something!
