BlogWorld Update Pt. 1
I arrived at BlogWorld this morning at 7:30 AM. Surprising I was on time when I was sure that typical Las Vegas traffic was going to hold me up.
To be honest, I expected to meet a full parking lot and swarms of people. I expected that I would be overwhelmed with things to do, and places to find.
What I have found is the opposite.
This morning I got registered, listened to keynote speakers, registered on Twitter where you can follow what’s happening with me here, and started to walk the exhibits.
I made contact with Ted Murphy and gang from IZEA/PayPerPost which was quite fun! I also got myself a nice little Travelodge teddy bear and an IZEA mouse pad. I’ll take pictures of all my BlogWorld swag later.
What I really wanted to take a minute to post was one thing I see with “normal bloggers” around this expo. Blogs are not just for the fun of it and ultimately, everyone has a blog to have a voice. But I’m looking around this building and realizing how digital we’ve all become.
Here I sit in front of a panel of people who are experts on public relations and just to the side of them, there’s a huge screen projecting live feeds. I mean, we’ve all got the need to be so connected that we have feed happening at a blogging convention. Because really, both seem like an oxymoron!
Either we’ve all turned really digital or we’re all just geeks now. Everyone is connected.
But having said that, isn’t that what’s so exciting?! Image the digital world our parents lived in, now us, and what about the digital world that our children will live in.
In regards to my earlier post about being a wallflower, that simply hasn’t happened. I decided I’d either take this really amazing opportunity and step up to socialize and get involved or I’ll let this pass me all by and will have wasted my entire day here.
Socializing it is. And while I’m terribly disappointed that my business cards didn’t make it in time for BlogWorld, it’s fun to see the slight smile when I say “I blog at I’m Blogging That” because just as Mindy’s brilliant mind said, “these are phrases that we all say.” The other comment to my blog name is the shear excitement that someone like “me” could purchase a domain name like this “that was actually available?”
At any rate, life is good here at BlogWorld and the WiFi is holding up fabulously!
More soon.

Funner, I’m not sure what about this post made you think I don’t like Las Vegas. It’s my home and has been for the last 3 years and there will have to be no beats left my heart for you to pry me from this place!
So, to answer your questions, I LOVE Las Vegas. It is cool and there are a lot of great things about it. If you’re interested, check out my Vegas Baby category to hear all the great things I have said about Las Vegas.
