My friends told me that page rank has no value at all. I mean because there are plenty of pages which has higher page rank but they are not in the SERPS.

Since PR seems to not be the whole story any more when it comes to Google rankings, how do you know if you're being penalized anymore? There's sites appearing as #1 that have PR0. They're obviously not being penalized, right?

Put your link on here places with hand typed information get spidered by search engines faster. Blogs about your topic write about what you have what you do you are the expert on what you have. They get spidered quickly. Look up free website directories. usfreeads and place an ad. Craigs list. Try free URL Submitters. Twitter has a directory that is free. LinkedIn is a directory.

Domain age plays a big role – anything less than 3-6 months old isn't going to get bumped up in PR, unless there are a ton of quality incoming links to your site.

That's just some bullet points. There is a LOT to raising PR, and to SEO in general.

Pagerank is mostly about off-site optimization, meaning the number and quality of incoming, non-reciprocal links.

Having other, higher PR sites that are about a similar topic to your site linking to your site, WITHOUT having a link on your site back to them will raise pagerank quite quickly.

But it's more than that – your web pages need to "flow". Your content needs to go along with your choosen keywords, the page needs relevant title and description meta tags, and the site needs to work – no broken links, etc..

To increase page rank.. increase more and more links for your website by either submitting articles for free in articles base, articles city or any other website.

Say a tech blog that did a review of stuff that's just come out. It would LOOK like a series of adverts and indeed is effectively that yet they're not taking payments. As for me, I simply made a choice as to where I want to fall in the grand scheme of blogs. So they have some problems answering to Google's questions
