Nov. Search Terms
November was my biggest month for unique visitors to my site. In the nearly 2 years that I have been blogging, never have I had my unique visits so high. Page views, yes but unique is a whole other ball game.
So, knowing how close I was getting to my “big month†at the end of the month I paid close attention to my search terms. I want to know how people are finding and hitting my blog and to get that information I look at search terms and referring URL’s. Both are equally important to me.
In the spirit of having previously shared my search terms, I’m doing so again. Something here may be of interest to you too or at least give you a little giggle.
For me, it’s always interesting to see this information and in no way can I share all of my search terms. There’s more than 100 of them and not all of them have much to do about anything.
Here we go:
BlogCatalog » Seriously, I love BlogCatalog. For me it’s fun to join in random discussions, locate blogs with similar tags as mine and the hits from the site are great! I’ve talked about BlogCatalog in my post Follow-Up to PageRank.
beliefs and my life » Anyone who reads my blog often knows this could apply to 1,001 different posts. Everything I post is my belief and “my life” is part of my tagline. But this search term posts to my post Strong Beliefs.
im bringing blogging back » Dang, go me! I always wanted to bring sexy back but I can live with bringing blogging back. OK, whatever, who knows what post this pointed to last month but today oddly enough it brings up Is Content King?.
ted murphy » Do you know Ted? I actually met him at PostieCon last month. Great guy. But this search brings up my post SocialSpark Info.
country graphics community » This community is giving me a headache at the moment and I can’t decide if I’m going to stay or go. The post is Cross Your Fingers! which is actually talking about Joanne’s possible promotion.
binkie wean snip » Listen of Mom who have a baby on a binkie! This WORKS! Zadey has been without a binkie for 5 months and not a single tantrum ever came of it. Read the post No More Binkie Baby.
i am by your side listen to my voice what you do to me like i do because of you lyrics » Oh, I so love this song! The Plain White T’s rock my socks! Check out the post I <3 Music.
harry potter sex » I’m so afraid to ask. Really, I am. But this comes to me because of my post Harry Potter vs. Sex.
lesbian girlfriend moved miss her » Awww, that’s sad. I haven’t ever had to miss my girlfriend before and strange enough this points to my blog post How Boring!.
101 things about tigers » I don’t know 101 things about tigers. But this search phrase goes to my 101 Things page where I mention that a lot of people know me by the screen name SpiritOfATiger.
There you have it! 10 search terms from November that may just take you to some interesting blog posts around here. What I don’t like about my search terms is that I can’t really draw in any idea of what people are actually looking for with me. My terms are so all over the map that I can’t say people are coming to visit me because I blog about ____. Not helpful so I guess I just keep up with the all over the map, it’s working for me.
So, what are you blogging about that people search you out for?

Chula Vista Kango » Thank you! What makes me feel somewhat popular though is the comments. Recently comments have exploded around here and I LOVE it!
Jessie » Thank you. Once you check out your search terms, write about it! It’s always fun (and great for deep linking on your site)!

Funny post! I love looking at analytics to find out the bizarre ways people sometimes find my site! Like you though, with such a strange range, it can be difficult to draw any real conclusions!

Jenny » The good thing though about strange search terms is that you find yourself able to keep the wide range of topics and still have a site that is useful to others.
Truth of the matter is for me, no matter how strange the term or phrase, at least they found me… perhaps I even helped too! LOL
