PageRank Update
There has been some amount of speculation today as to whether or not Google was performing a PageRank update. I chose not to say anything and instead, just watch and wait.
Because I was just hoping around my blog, doing a little research for another blog post I realized it was time to say something about today’s possible PageRank update.
Why?
Because I have PageRank on pages that were not previously ranked. These same pages were not even ranked as of this morning when I updated my blog’s theme template.
So, did Google make an update to the toolbar today for PageRank? Yes!
My page Memorable Posts is now displaying a rank of 2 and The Cast page is now displaying a rank of 3.
Because my permalink structure is new and some of my pages are as new as today, those are the only two pages that I have found with new PageRank on them. There may be some posts somewhere but I have not yet checked the status of any posts.

yep, 2 of my blogs went froom 0 to 3 and one went down from 6 to 5.
i wonder when will google’s data centers update PR as well.

Awesome. Congratulations on the increase with two of your blogs. Any idea why the other had a decrease?
As far as data centers, I have no idea how long they take to update. Presumably, that update comes after they have completed the toolbar updates.

Yeah… I know how that goes. My personal blog has more PageRank on the “about” page then it does on the index. Go figure.

I am devastated! I have three blogs and two of them already got stripped of their PR 3 & PR 4 from Google’s last update. Just a few hours ago, I found out the only one left with PR 4 was finally stripped from PR 4 to PR 0!!! I didn’t realize why at PPP I still had opps yesterday now they are all gone. As in none totally left! What should I have done to save that blog of mine?

Tere » I’m really sorry to hear that happened to you. Since Google started hitting bloggers I have thought that those who want to participate with PPP and other blog sponsorship programs take the posts and after payment/proper time has passed the blog owners go back and place no follow on all of their sponsored post links.
Other than that, what you can do now that your PageRank is gone is outlined in my post PageRank Is Back. This post tells you what I did to regain my PageRank which are the same steps you can follow for one or all of your blogs.
For additional help, you may also want to refer to my more recent post, Understanding Follow Tags. So that if you request reconsideration of your PageRank, this doesn’t happen to you again.

One of my blogs went from 0 to Not Ranked! The other is still a 0 and the predicter site is saying that I do not have enough backlinks now.

Diana » Along with the rumor of the PageRank update I also heard one about changes to backlinks. There could be more information out there about that. If you want to get some info, I’d search for information/blog posts out there of people experiencing the problem. Maybe there is more to this update than what we all originally thought.

I’m still a zero. I used to float back and forth between 5 and 6. Am fairly well listed within Google and the other engines. No PPP. Just adsense.
Rather annoying actually.
Only thing I can think of is I had a 35k picture Gallery on the domain awhile back and I placed a link back to the main site in there. I noticed that Google indexed the Gallery quite heavily for some time and then dropped it without notice. I did wonder about that and wonder if they had an issue with it.

Looks like Google may have updated their pageranks recently. This site is still a zero I’m afraid (We used to float between 5 and 6) but yet we’re fairly well listed and get added in fairly quickly. We had a……

My rank pretty much stayed the same on all pages, with an increase on a few, but what I find interesting is that I have a few articles that have been online for a while with no rank, and new articles that got a rank this time around….strange.
